Attend a local La Leche League Meeting. The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding by Diane Wiessinger Ina May's Guide to Breastfeeding by Ina May Gaskin ---------------------------------------------------------- Should I Register for a Breast Pump? I recommend waiting until baby is born to purchase or rent a pump. If you'd like, register for a breast pump fund, or perhaps a simple hand pump. Breastfeeding takes two, and you won't know what your little one needs until you deliver. Once a personal breast pump has been used, it cannot be returned. Can I Borrow A Breast Pump? Yes, there is one rental facility in Colorado Springs that rents good quality pumps that are approved for reuse. The hospitals also rent pumps. What Supplies Will I Need? Hopefully you won't need much at all. Two good nursing bras and some reusable nursing pads are good choices. You might be better off waiting until after baby is born before purchasing many other supplies. The good news about breastfeeding is that it is very cost-effective! |
